DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On March 3, 2023, the El Dorado County Sheriff, in his capacity as Director of the Office of Emergency Services, pursuant to Government Code Section 8630, proclaimed a local emergency based on conditions relating to the February and March 2023 Storms.
The Resolution ratified March 7, 2023, by the Board of Supervisors said that the Local Emergency would continue in effect until terminated by the Board. Ending the emergency is now an appropriate step for the Board of Supervisors to take, as the condition of extreme period from an imminent and proximate threat from the February and March 2023 Storms is removed.
ALTERNATIVES
The Board may choose to allow the Local Emergency to remain in effect.
