Elections Department recommending the Board declare the results of the offical canvass of the November 4, 2008 Consolidated General Election conducted by the Recorder-Clerk-Registrar of Voters.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: Districts and cities will be billed individual costs for their elections. The Registrar of Voters will be reimbursed by said districts.
Background: The results of the votes cast at the Consolidated General Election held November 4, 2008 were certified by the Recorder-Clerk-Registrar of Voters on December 1, 2008 in accordance with Elections Code 15372. A copy of the Statement of Vote is on file in the Office of the Clerk of the Board. The Board of Supervisors as the governing body for County offices and measures under Elections Code 15400 shall declare the persons elected, and the results of each measure voted on at the election, in its jurisdiction. The Elections official shall make and deliver to each person elected a certificate of election, per Elections Code 15401.
Reason for Recommendation: Elections Code section 15400 states that the governing board shall declare the results of each election held under its jurisdiction.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Registar of Voters will receive and file.
