Total estimated project cost is $808,000. Requested FAA Federal assistance is $767,600. A separate request for State funding, in the amount of $19,190, will follow pending action on the FAA request. El Dorado County would be responsible for the remaining $21,210, which is currently available in the Placerville Airport Enterprise Fund.

Background: Placerville Airport serves the general aviation needs of Placerville and the surrounding unincorporated area of El Dorado County. Several construction projects have been completed at this location over the past few years with Federal aid under the Airport Improvement Program.

Reason for Recommendation:

The 2008 Airport Improvement Program, which is covered by this application, consists of three projects that are recommended for continued operation of this airport. Those projects are described below:
