Supervisor Novasel recommending the Board approve the appointment of Bill Martinez as the District V member to the Human Rights Commission.

On March 20, 2018 the Board adopted Ordinance 5081 establishing the El Dorado County Human Rights Commission. The purpose of the Human Rights Commission is to promote tolerance and mutual respect among all persons, and to foster peaceful relations in the interest of preserving the public peace among residents of different races, religions, national origins, and the other characteristics listed in Government Code section 11135. The Commission shall consist of seven (7) members comprised of the following: Two (2) members shall be from the current members of the Board of Supervisors, appointed by majority vote of the Board at a regular meeting. Each member of the Board of Supervisors shall nominate one (1) member who is a full-time resident of their respective Supervisorial District to serve on the commission. Resident Members serve at the pleasure of their nominating Supervisor and of the full Board.
