DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION:
Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) recommending the Board authorize the Chair to sign a Budget Transfer Request (BTR) to increase the Fixed Assets line item in the Fiscal Year (FY) 2017-18 Budget, and decrease the Appropriations for Contingency and Computer Maintenance line items by $22,000.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND:
HHSA has experienced recent losses due to vehicle fuel theft, tampering with exterior lighting system, as well as other suspicious activity at 768 Pleasant Valley Road, and in an effort to discourage future losses and increase security and safety for the site, HHSA is planning to purchase a security camera system. In accordance with GC 34090.6, images obtained by such a security camera system must be maintained for a period of one (1) year. HHSA plans to purchase a server and associated supporting items to ensure sufficient hardware to comply with the retention requirements.

ALTERNATIVES:
Disapproval of the Budget Transfer Request would result in HHSA not purchasing the appropriate hardware to retain security images in accordance with GC 34090.6.
