Title

Parks, a division of the Chief Administrative Office, recommends the Commission discuss site visits to Parks Division facilities.

Body

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

Parks Division, operating under the Chief Administrative Office, is responsible for the management, maintenance, and improvement of El Dorado County’s parks, trails, and recreational facilities. In order to support informed decision-making and strengthen collaboration between the Commission and Parks staff, site visits to Division-managed facilities are being coordinated.

These visits are intended to provide Commissioners with firsthand knowledge of current conditions, ongoing projects, and operational challenges across the park system. Observing facilities directly will allow the Commission to better understand resource needs, community usage, and opportunities for future improvements. The Parks Division anticipates that these site visits will enhance transparency, foster constructive dialogue, and ensure that Commission recommendations are grounded in practical, on-the-ground perspectives. Sites to be calendared for visits are shown below:

South Lake Tahoe (exact location TBD)

Forebay Park

Pioneer Park

Bradford Park

Chili Bar / South Fork American River

Historic Rail Park / El Dorado Trail

Bike Park

Rubicon Trail
