DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

Information Technologies Department (IT) is recommending that the Board of Supervisors approve revisions to the previously adopted Board Policy A-22 - County Website Policy, which provides guidance on the administration, branding, content, and compliance of County maintained websites.  Policy A-22 was first adopted in 2008 and updated in 2017.  The proposed revisions include updated Privacy and Accessibility requirements, processes for publishing and editing Website content by department editors, and the registration process for special purpose domain names.

 

All Departments and the IT Steering Committee have had the opportunity to review the proposed changes. 

 

ALTERNATIVES

The Board could request further edits to the A-22 Policy.

FINANCIAL IMPACT

There is no direct financial impact to updating this policy.  Indirectly, the proposed policy should assist in minimizing the County’s liability.
