Discussion / Background
On July 16, 2024 (Legistar File 24-0898), the Board of Supervisors (Board) adopted Resolution 111-2024, establishing the Strategic Economic Enhancement Development Committee (SEED). SEED serves as an advisory body charged with providing a Countywide strategic perspective on economic development, grounded in defined Board priorities and approved work plans. The committee’s role includes identifying opportunities to enhance economic activity, support business growth, and inform development of the County’s new economic development strategic plan.
On November 18, 2025 (Legistar File 25-1887), the Board adopted Resolution 172-2025, superseding Resolution 111-2024, to expand SEED’s scope and directing them to develop a new economic development strategic plan (Strategic Plan) and a corresponding work plan for its implementation.
Alternatives
The Board may choose not to receive and file the annual report from SEED. This could prevent SEED from receiving feedback and/or direction.
