Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost
Total cost for the two year term is $9,618.72. Funding for the first year has been included in the FY 2014-15 budget. Funding for the second year will be included in the FY 2015-16 Recommended Budget.
Background
ASE technology eliminated the need for multiple T1 circuits between Departments and the I.T. Data Center to obtain access to various services. ASE replaced Opt-E-Man which was cost effective at the time and created greater efficiency for County operations. The newer ASE Technology will further improve efficiency at a reduced cost overall (estimated savings of $3,000 per month or $36,000 per year).
Reason for Recommendation
Exhibit A-2, Amendment VII, is an extension to the current Master Services Agreement established between the County of El Dorado and AT&T/SBC Global Services. The approval of Exhibit A-2, Amendment VII, will be installed at 924 Emerald Bay Road in South Lake Tahoe.
