DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

On May 14, 2019, the Board directed staff to return to the Board with a funding agreement in order to award $1,700 to the City of Placerville to support their efforts to celebrate the Amgen Tour as it raced through El Dorado County.

 

A funding agreement is required in order for the County to process the payment to the City of Placerville. Approval of the funding agreement also provides the finding that a public benefit is derived from supporting this community event, which enhances tourism and encourages a sense of community to the people of El Dorado County.

 

ALTERNATIVES

The Board could choose not to approve the funding agreement, and no funding would be provided in support of these efforts.

It is recommended the Board approve this item.

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT

The Board of Supervisors allocated $50,000 in the Fiscal Year 2018-19 budget in General Fund - Other Operations (Department 15) to be available for community funding requests supported by the Board.  Approval of this item would allocate $1,700 from this amount. There is no additional impact to the General Fund due to the approval of this agreement.
