Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:  There is a NCC reduction of <$500> for the costs associated with the Neighborhood Watch Program included in the Sheriff's FY2008/09 budget.  
 
Background:  In 1990, Target established the Law Enforcement Grant Program.  This program supports criminal justice agencies working to make our communities safer.  Since its inception, the Law Enforcement Grant Program has awarded millions of dollars to local law enforcement agencies.
 
Reason for Recommendation:  Target has informed the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office that a $500 grant has been approved to support the County's Neighborhood Crime Suppression.  The Sheriff will utilize the funding for the ongoing Neighborhood Watch Program.
 
Action to be taken following Board approval:  Funds will be deposited into the Sheriff's FY2008/09 budget.
