DEPARTMENT RECOMMENDATION

Human Resources Department recommending the Board approve the job specification for the County's existing Mental Health Therapy Consultant - Extra Help classification.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND

The County’s Mental Health Therapy Consultant - Extra Help classification has been in use since 1988. Historically, some classifications that were to be used for Extra Help only, such as Mental Health Therapy Consultant - Extra Help, were adopted by the Board without job specifications.

While the Mental Health Therapy Consultant remains an Extra Help only classification, in order to establish the minimum qualifying Education & Experience Requirements and to more effectively recruit and hire qualified candidates, Human Resources is recommending the Board adopt the job specification for the Mental Health Therapy Consultant - Extra Help classification.
