Body
DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
On October 20, 2020, the Board approved the District Attorney’s acceptance of the CDI Workers’ Compensation Fraud Program (WC) in the amount of $446,750 for grant period July 1, 2020 - June 30, 2021, and authorized the District Attorney to accept any subsequent grant amendments. This Program supports continued efforts in the investigation and prosecution of workers' compensation insurance fraud.
On November 12, 2020, the District Attorney’s Office received notification of additional grant funding for the WC Program, of which $4,803 was allocated to El Dorado County. This additional award will cover anticipated salary and benefit expenses pertaining to any potential Extra-Help positions dedicated to the Program. The enclosed budget transfer reconciles the additional award within the department's FY 2020-2021 budget.
ALTERNATIVES
Should the Board decline approval of the Budget Transfer, the District Attorney's budget will not accurately reflect the WC Program revenue for FY 2020-2021.
