Title
Supervisor Santiago recommending the Board adopt Resolution 027-2013 to consolidate the South Tahoe Public Utility District Board of Directors elections to general even-year elections pursuant to California Elections Code 10404, subdivision (j). (Cont'd 3/26/13, Item 17)
Body
The Lake Tahoe Unified School District and Lake Tahoe Community College recently changed their election cycle(s) to even-numbered years instead of odd-numbered years and was approved by Resolutions 020-2013 and 021-2013, by the Board of Supervisors at their February 26, 2013 public meeting. As a result, the South Tahoe Public Utility District is the only local agency in the Lake Tahoe Basin within El Dorado County remaining in the odd-year election cycle and will assume all associated costs instead of splitting it three ways. By Resolution  2922-13, and  pursuant to California Elections Code 10404, subdivision (j), the South Tahoe Public Utility District Board of Directors officially requests the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors and the Alpine County Board of Supervisors approve consolidation of their district board elections to the dates of the statewide general elections, with the first such election to occur on November 4, 2014.
