Sheriff’s Office recommending the Board adopt and authorize the Chair to sign Resolution 128-2023 amending the Authorized Personnel Allocation Resolution to:
1) Add one (1.0) Full Time Equivalent (FTE) Administrative Analyst I/II allocation; and
2) Delete one (1.0) FTE Sheriff’s Training Coordinator allocation in the Sheriff’s Office.

DISCUSSION / BACKGROUND
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office (EDSO) is requesting to add 1.0 FTE Administrative Analyst I/II allocation and delete 1.0 FTE Sheriff’s Training Coordinator allocation from the Sheriff’s Office authorized personnel allocation primarily due to a change in business model and organization within the office.
Due to increased number of grants received by the Sheriff’s Office in recent years, including the Proposition 64 Grant and California Highway Patrol’s Cannabis Tax Fund Grant Program, an additional Administrative Analyst position is needed to oversee these grants in the Sheriff’s Fiscal Unit. Currently, the Sheriff’s Office has 2 Administrative Analyst I/II allocations with one assigned to Support Services for training and personnel reporting and the other assigned to Fiscal to manage a portion of the Sheriff’s Office grants. The additional 1.0 FTE Administrative Analyst I/II is being requested to accommodate the overall increased workload.
Rather than requesting an overall increase to the Sheriff’s Office allocations, EDSO is requesting that the Sheriff’s Training Coordinator position be deleted to offset a portion of the costs for the additional Administrative Analyst I/II. The Sheriff’s Training Coordinator has been vacant for years with those duties being disbursed amongst other allocations, including a portion being completed by the Support Services Administrative Analyst.
