Chief Administrative Office recommending the Board receive and file the Initial Draft Response to the 2007-2008 Grand Jury Final Report Part 1, and provide feedback regarding changes to include with the Final Draft Response.

The 2007-08 Grand Jury Final Report Part 1 includes several reports on County programs and facilities that require a response from the Board of Supervisors per Penal Code. Topics covered by the Grand Jury include Assisting Road Repair Community Service Districts, the Clean Tahoe Program, the Placerville and South Lake Tahoe Jails, and the Placerville and South Lake Tahoe Juvenile Halls. County departments including Transportation, Environmental Management, Sheriff General Services and Probation have assisted with this draft response.
The Grand Jury Foreman has been notified of the day and time of this agenda item, and has been given a copy of this memo and the Initial Draft Response per Board of Supervisors Policy A-11.
Following any additional changes directed by the Board today, staff will prepare a Final Draft Response for the Board's adoption and submittal to the Superior Court Presiding Judge. The Penal Code deadline for submittal to the Judge is June 30, 2008.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Following the direction of the Board, the CAO will work with the appropriate departments to prepare a Final Draft response to the Grand Jury report.
