Reason for Recommendation
The County and the State through the Administrative Office of the Courts (AOC) has engaged in the State's process to build a new Courthouse in Placerville.  The State process is involved and has extended of the span of years.  As the process has evolved, the State has adjusted it's priorities and funding obligations, often putting the project at risk of no future funding.  Through the efforts of both the County Board of Supervisor's, the City of Placerville, and local Court's Administration and Presiding Judge, lobbying efforts have thus far been successful to keep the project moving forward, although at a much slower pace than that was in the Original Courthouse Construction Master Plan.

At this time the Board of Supervisor's reaffirms their commitment to the continuation of this vital project.

Action(s) to be taken following Board approval -
A Letter to the Administrative Office of the Courts will be prepared
Board Chair will sign the letter on behalf of the Board of Supervisors of the County of El Dorado.
