Department of Transportation recommending the Board:
1) Authorize the Chair to sign the Notice of Acceptance with Doug Veerkamp General Engineering, Inc. for road maintenance services (Contract No, PW 11-30595, #080-S1211) on various roads in the Arrowbee Estates Road Zone of Benefit 98201 within County Service Area No. 2, located in the Lotus-Luneman Area of El Dorado County; and
2) Authorize the Clerk of the Board to release the Payment and Performance Bonds to the Surety upon notification from the Department after the one-year guarantee period.
FUNDING: Arrowbee Estates Road Zone of Benefit Assessment Fees.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:
Funding for the services under Agreement for Road Zone Maintenance Services PW 11-30595 is provided by the benefit assessments for the Arrowbee Estates Road Zone of Benefit. The amount included in the Department of Transportation's (Department) fiscal year 2011/2012 budget for the Arrowbee Estates Road Zone of Benefit is $82,110. There is no cost to the General Fund or the Road Fund. The requested Board action has no associated fiscal impact.
Background:
On September 13, 2011, the Board approved and authorized the Board Chair to sign Agreement for Road Zone Maintenance Services PW 11-30595 (#080-S1211) with Doug Veerkamp General Engineering, Inc. (Legislative File No. 11-0849). The Agreement was executed for a lump sum amount of $81,829.97 on September 13, 2011 and the Notice to Proceed with the work issued effective September 19, 2011.
Reason for Recommendation:
Road zone maintenance services including asphalt patching, pot hole repairs, chip seal application, with culvert installation and ditching were completed at various locations in the Arrowbee Estates Road Zone of Benefit according to the terms of Agreement for Road Zone Maintenance Services PW 11-30595 (#080-S1211) at a cost of $81,829.97.
