Background:
The Railroad Park Building located on Oriental Street in El Dorado is owned by Ed and Sheryl Hagen. This building is on county property, but was built by Ed Hagen and moved on site. This building is a replica of the historic train station.
El Dorado County has a grant application submitted for a Railroad Park at this location and currently the building is used as a staging area for special events and rail events. The El Dorado Western Railroad provides train rides from this location.
Reason for Recommendation:
This building is on county property and the county needs an agreement so we can insure the building.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
1) Execute the contract
2) Add Building to county insurance policy
3) Provide Ed and Sheryl Hagen proof of insurance and $1 a year lease payment.
