Reason for Recommendation: The FY 2011-12 Adopted Budget for Child Support Services includes state funding in the amount of $90,932 to fund the local Backfile Project. This project utilizes extra help clerical staff to register/index paper documents contained in child support case files. The goal of the project is to replace paper files with electronic files which will result in more efficient case processing statewide. On October 26, 2011, the State Department of Child Support Services approved an additional allocation of $23,000 for the County of El Dorado's Backfile Project. Approval of this budget transfer will appropriate the additional funding and assist the Department in completing this project. The total approved allocation for this project in FY 2011-12 is $113,932, including the additional $23,000.
Action to be taken following Board approval:
1) Chair to sign budget transfer.
2) The signed budget transfer will be provided to the Auditor-Controller for posting.
