Chief Administrative Office recommending the Board authorize the Chair to sign Amendment I to Agreement for Services #115-F1011 with the El Dorado County Fire Safe Council for fire prevention and planning services as described in Title III of Public Law 110-343.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: This amendment allows the El Dorado County Fire Safe Council more time to spend their previously allocated Title III funds. There is no change to net county cost.
Background: On July 28, 2009 the Board directed that 80% of the County's 2008-09 Title III allocation be given to the El Dorado County Fire Safe Council, and authorized the Chief Administrative Officer and the Chairman to execute the contract (reference File ID 09-0064).
Agreement for Services #115-F1011 provided a total of $210,458 to the Fire Safe Council (Attachment B). The Agreement expires on June 30, 2012. The Fire Safe Council has informed the Chief Administrative Office that it will have unspent funds at the end of the contract term. As of January 2012, the Fire Safe Council reported $20,268 in unspent funds.
Reason for Recommendation: Amendment I (Attachment A) to the Agreement extends the term by an additional year thereby allowing the El Dorado County Fire Safe Council more time to spend previously allocated Title III funds.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Board Clerk to provide two signed copies of Amendment I to the Chief Administrative Office. Chief Administrative Office to provide signed copy of Amendment I to the El Dorado County Fire Safe Council.
