Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: No change to net county cost.
Background: The County is a member of the California State Association of Counties Excess Insurance Authority (CSAC-EIA) General Liability II (GLII) Program. CSAC-EIA GLII Committee approved amendments to the GLII Program Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). (See Attachment A, Agenda Item CSAC-EIA GLII Program, 12/8/2011) These amendments were made to expand represenation on the GLII Committee to additional public entity members. (See Attachment B, Final Amendment to GLII Program MOU). The County must execute the amended MOU by March 1, 2012. Failure to execute the amended MOU by March 1, 2012 will result in sending a notice of withdrawl effective July 1, 2012. The County would be able to rescind the notice of withdrawl by executing the MOU Amendment before July 1, 2012 renewal. The MOU amendments are non-controversial and staff recommends that the County sign the Amendment to the GLII Program MOU. Kim Kerr, Assistant Chief Administrative Officer, represents the County as a Board member and Committee member with CSAC-EIA.
Reason for Recommendation: Chief Administrative Office recommending the Board authorize Kim Kerr, Assistant Chief Administrative Officer, to sign the Amendment to the General Liability II Program Memorandum of Understanding for the CSAC Excess Insurance Authority.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Kim Kerr, Assistant Chief Administrative Officer, will sign the Amendment to the GLII Program MOU and return it to CSAC-EIA.
