REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION: At the request of the Department of Transportation, the Procurement and Contracts division issued an Invitation to Bid for Fleet tires. Eighteen (18) invitations to bid were mailed, nine (9) to local vendors. The bid consisted of two main categories, category "A" for Goodyear tires, category "B" for Firestone tires, and four smaller categories for Bridgestone tires, Michelin tires, Cooper tires, and a category for miscellaneous tires. Two (2) qualified responses were received for this bid, one (1) from a local vendor. An evaluation spreadsheet is attached for your review.

FISCAL IMPACT/CHANGE TO NET COUNTY COST: Procurement and Contracts has been advised that funding is available within the Department of Transportation's budget. Fleet Operations Fund and recovered through vehicle rents from both non-general funded and general funded departments.
