Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts Division, recommending the Board;
1) Award Bid 12-863-036 for the purchase of Fleet tires to the low qualified bidders, Sierra Nevada Tire and Wheel of Placerville, CA for Goodyear tires and miscellaneous tires (Category "A" and "F") and U.S. Tire Sales and Service of Sacramento, CA for Firestone tires, Bridgestone tires, Michelin tires, and Cooper tires (Category "B", "C", "D", and "E");
2) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue blanket purchase orders totaling $115,000 for a one-year term following Board approval; and
3) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to increase the blanket purchase orders on an "as needed" basis during the awarded period as long as funding is available within the requesting Department's budget.

REASON FOR RECOMMENDATION: At the request of the Department of Transportation, the Procurement and Contracts division issued an Invitation to Bid for Fleet tires. Eighteen (18) invitations to bid were mailed, nine (9) to local vendors. The bid consisted of two main categories, category "A" for Goodyear tires, category "B" for Firestone tires, and four smaller categories for Bridgestone tires, Michelin tires, Cooper tires, and a category for miscellaneous tires. Two (2) qualified responses were received for this bid, one (1) from a local vendor. An evaluation spreadsheet is attached for your review.
FISCAL IMPACT/CHANGE TO NET COUNTY COST: Procurement and Contracts has been advised that funding is available within the Department of Transportation's budget. Fleet Operations Fund and recovered through vehicle rents from both non-general funded and general funded departments.
