Supervisor Sweeney requesting the Board of Supervisors convene at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at the El Dorado Center of Folsom Lake College to attend the Dedication Ceremony for a new 17" diameter telescope, donated by GenCorp/Aerojet.

The Cameron Park Rotary Community Observatory and its operating partners, Folsom Lake College, the El Dorado County Office of Education, and the Cameron Park Rotary Club are hosting the event.
Since 2006, the Observatory has hosted more than 26,000 visitors to view the heavens through powerful telescopes and learn more about the night sky, our solar system, and the universe from expert Docents. The Observatory regularly hosts school classes and community groups and arranges off-site "star parties" and solar viewing events to promote science education in our community. All Observatory programs are available free of charge to all visitors.
