Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:  Expenditures for training costs relative to this Reimbursement Agreement are offset by Homeland Security Grant funds.  As a result, there is no impact to Net County Cost.

Background: The Board of Supervisors created the Approval Authority which consists of the City of Placerville, City of South Lake Tahoe, Sheriff's Office, Fire Districts and other eligible agencies to oversee the distribution of Homeland Security Grant funds.  The Approval Authority approved a maximum amount of $15,000 from the 2009 Homeland Security Grant for County Fire Protection District staff to attend a river and flood water rescue course.

Reason for Recommendation:  Approval of this recommendation will allow the Sheriff's Office to reimburse the Fire Protection District for costs associated with this training program with Homeland Security Grant funds.

Action to be taken following Board approval:  Upon execution of this Reimbursement Agreement, a signed copy will be provided to the Fire Protection District.  Upon completion of the training and receipt of invoices, the Sheriff's Office will reimburse the Fire Protection District for actual training costs not to exceed $15,000.
