Background: On July 3, 2008, the El Dorado County Transportation Commission (EDCTC) was designated as the Airport Land Use Commission (ALUC) for the western slope of El Dorado County.
Public Utilities Code Section 21675(a) requires an ALUC to prepare an Airport Land Use Compatibility Plan (ALUCP) for each public-use airport within its jurisdiction. The overall purpose of the ALUCP is to protect public health, safety, and welfare by encouraging the orderly expansion of airports and the adoption of land use measures that minimize exposure to excessive noise and safety hazards within areas around public use airports.
