Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost: The cost of the contract amendment is up to $5,000.00. There will be no increase in net county cost because the contract is paid out of the Rare Plants Mitigation Fund.
Background: The County has had an agreement with SAIC since August 26, 2008, to provide biological services to the County in connection with the Gabbro soils rare plants. SAIC has provided consulting services to the County, conducted plant surveys, attended meetings of the Biological Technical Committee, and other functions. Staff will be bringing a new contract with SAIC to the Board in a few weeks to cover a new phase of the project. We are asking the Board to increase SAIC's current contract amount by $5,000.00 to cover incidental services prior to that contract being in place.
Reason for Recommendation: County Counsel recommending that the Board of Supervisors approve Amendment No. 5 to the Agreement to provide Biological Services with SAIC, to increase the "not-to-exceed" amount by $5,000.00 to $70,000.00.
Action to be taken following Board approval: Chair will sign the Agreement and County Counsel will disburse the copies.
