Health and Human Services Agency, Community Services Division, recommending the Board:
1) Adopt Resolution 097-2012 increasing the Public Guardian imprest cash fund balance by One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150), from One Hundred Fifty Dollars ($150) to Three Hundred Dollars ($300) for emergency purchases made on behalf of Public Guardian clients; and
2) Adopt Resolution 098-2012 increasing the Senior Nutrition imprest cash fund balance by Eighty Dollars ($80), from Two Hundred Forty Dollars ($240) to Three Hundred Twenty Dollars ($320) for facilitation of day-to-day operations at each of the County's Senior Nutrition meal sites.

Background
On December 13, 2005 the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 352-2005 increasing the Public Guardian imprest cash fund by $100, from $50 to $150, for emergency purchases for clients.
On August 16, 2005 the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 250-2005 increasing the Senior Nutrition imprest cash fund by $80, from $160 to $240, to facilitate day-to-day program operations at Senior Nutrition sites in El Dorado County.
Reason for Recommendation
The Agency's Public Guardian Office often makes emergency purchases for items such as medications and food on the behalf of their vulnerable clients. The Public Guardian Office finds it necessary to increase the current imprest cash fund balance by $150, from $150 to $300 at this time.
The Senior Nutrition Program provides daily lunch to seniors at the seven meal sites located throughout the County. Donations are accepted at each meal site and the increased use of large bills necessitates a larger amount of cash on hand at each site to provide change for participant donations. The following details the recommended amount for each meal site:

Action(s) to be taken following Board approval
1. Clerk of the Board of Supervisors to transmit certified copies of the Resolutions to the County of El Dorado Auditor-Controller and County of El Dorado Treasurer pursuant to Government Code Section 29322.
2. Clerk of the Board of Supervisors to transmit a certified copy of the Resolutions to HHSA at Briw Road.
3. Auditor-Controller to increase existing HHSA Public Guardian and Senior Nutrition imprest cash fund balances.
4. HHSA to abide by the amended Resolution in the maintenance of a revolving cash fund for the Public Guardian Office and Senior Nutrition Program.
