Body
Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost:  There is no fiscal impact at this time as this action does not obligate the Board to anything.

Background: On March 20, 2012 (Legistar item 10-1235), the Board authorized the Chief Administrative Office to move forward researching alternative sites for the new West Slope Animal Shelter.  The department wishes to begin negotiations for multiple properties in order to receive more solid financial information on acquisition costs.

Reason for Recommendation:  As additional information is available, the Chief Administrative Office will be return to the Board with an update on the West Slope Animal Shelter.  This update will include information obtained through negotiations with various property owners.  At that time, the Board will have the option to move forward with specific direction regarding the purchase of an alternate site.
