Background
The Bass Lake Road Full Improvements - Phase 1A Project (Project) is within the delegated authority for the Department of Transportation (Department) to conduct an informal bid, which is anticipated for January 2013. The Project consists of replacing a culvert across Bass Lake Road. To construct the new culvert, Bass Lake Road between City Lights Drive and Silver Dove Way will require a temporary closure for a period of fifty-nine (59) hours over a weekend from 6:00 p.m. on Friday to 5:00 a.m. on Monday. Alternate access will be available during the time of the temporary closure and traffic will be directed by signage to the route/detour.

The Department coordinated with the local fire district to create a plan for emergency response during the road closure and also coordinated with the local school district regarding bus routes during the detour as well.

Reason for Recommendation
