Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost
The $288,000 to be secured through this Grant Agreement will provide funding for the Green Valley Road Class II Bikeway Project (Project). The Department of Transportation (Department) will submit reimbursement requests to the State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) for the Bicycle Transportation Account (BTA) grant funding and a claim form to the El Dorado County Transportation Commission to access the required 10% local match funds of $32,000. The Department is anticipating Project expenditures totaling $89,500 during FY 12/13 utilizing savings from current projects, and the balance will be included in the Department's FY 13/14 proposed budget. There is no change to net County cost.

Background
On April 26, 2012, the Department submitted a 2012-13 BTA grant application to Caltrans for the Project. Caltrans notified the Department on September 7, 2012 that the Project was selected for a BTA Grant award. Although the Grant Agreement is dated effective July 1, 2012, it was not received by the Department until October 23, 2012.
