Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost
There is no fiscal impact or change to net County cost associated with this agenda item. Funding for the design, Right of Way and construction of the Pleasant Valley Road (SR 49)/Patterson Drive Intersection Signalization Project (Project) will be provided by 2004 General Plan Traffic Impact Mitigation Fees ($2,524,000), State Highway Operation and Protection Plan funds ($1,000,000), and State-Local Partnership Program funds ($600,000). The total current estimated cost for the Project is $4,124,000.

Background
The Project has been included in the Department of Transportation's (Department) Capital Improvement Program (CIP) since Fiscal Year 05/06. The Department has been working towards finalizing the design and acquiring the Right of Way for the Project. The proposed improvements to the Pleasant Valley Road and Patterson Drive intersection are necessary to enhance operations, reduce travel delays, and to accommodate projected future traffic volumes on the Pleasant Valley Road corridor.

On June 30, 2009 the Board adopted the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) document for the Project.

On December 29, 2011 the Project Study Report - Project Report was approved by the State of California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
