Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost
Estimated cost to set up the new fund is minimal.  Estimated fee collections for FY 12/13 are $4,000 with 15% ($600) to be retained by the County.
Background
The Department of Agriculture, Weights & Measures provides a variety of services and is required to administer State mandated programs.  State statutes also authorize for recovery of program cost through fees established by resolution 393-2006 of the Board of Supervisors.  The State has recently added to the California Business and Professions Codes Section  12241, 12242, 12246 and California Code of Regulations, Title 4 Division 9, Chapter 3, Sections 4075 establishing Annual Device Administrative Fee, Table A.
 
Reason for Recommendation
This resolution allows the funds collected for the Annual Device Administrative Fee to be deposited into a special fund for transmittal to the State of California.
Action(s) to be taken following Board approval
Forward a copy of the signed resolution to the Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures Office for implementation.
