None. This event will be funded by a combination of General Fund contribution and Senior Services donations and funding is included in the Agency's Fiscal Year 2012/13 Budget.
Reason for Recommendation
Since 1963, each May is observed nationwide as Older Americans Month, which allows the County the opportunity to show our appreciation for the older adults in our communities by sponsoring an Older American's Day celebration. This year the Older American's Day celebration is planned for May 29, 2013 and will be celebrated at each of the seven Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) Senior Nutrition sites during the regular lunch service. HHSA included $1,000 in the FY 2012/13 budget to cover the costs associated with the 2013 Older American's Day celebration and plans to purchase items including decorations, desserts, outreach literature/materials, and supplies.
