Title: Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts Division, presenting a list of County surplus property and recommending the Board of Supervisors: 1) So declare the items as surplus and no longer required for public use; 2) Authorize disposal of same in accordance with the procedures outlined in the County's Purchasing Ordinance, Chapter 3.12 and Section 3.12.220 thereof; and 3) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to execute an Agreement for the donation of twenty-seven (27) expired Point Blank Body Armor Vests and eight (8) expired Second Chance Body Armor Vests.

Body
Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost
The value of the expired Body Armor Vests has depreciated to zero and are no longer usable by the Probation Department. Donee will use expired Body Armor Vests for training purposes only per Agreement # 522-O1311. Items donated will be collected and removed by Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District in accordance with Agreement #522-O1311 for the purposes of first responder training.
 
Reason for Recommendation
Property determined to be surplus to the needs of the Probation Department were offered to other County law enforcement departments in accordance with Purchasing Ordinance 3.12.190 - Surplus Pool. The attached list of "surplus property" reflects those items that remain surplus to the needs of the County. The Purchasing Agent will dispose of said property in accordance with the Purchasing Ordinance as noted in Section 3.12.210 and Section 3.12.220 thereof by means of donation.
 
Action(s) to be taken following Board approval
Upon approval of the recommendation, the Purchasing Agent shall dispose of said property by means of donation.
