Background
Revenue and Taxation Code 2927.6 authorizes the Board by ordinance or resolution to grant authority to the Tax Collector to accept partial payments for payment of delinquent unsecured taxes.
Reason for Recommendation
The Treasurer-Tax Collector has determined that accepting partial payments would expedite collection of delinquent unsecured taxes.
Action(s) to be taken following Board approval
1) The Board of Supervisors to adopt a resolution to grant authority to the Tax Collector to accept partial payments for payment of delinquent unsecured taxes.
2) Authorize the Chairman of the Board to sign the resolution.
