Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts on behalf of the Sheriff's Department, recommending the Board approve the following:
1) Dispense with Formal Bidding procedures in accordance with Purchasing Ordinance 3.12.160 Section D;
2) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to utilize the State of California's competitively bid Contract No. 1-11-58-20 for the acquisition of fifteen (15) Transmitter / Receiver Mobile Relay / Base / Control Station (Repeaters) for the Sheriff's Department Communications Division; and
3) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue a purchase order to the awarded State vendor, Daniels Electronics Ltd. of Victoria, B.C. in the amount of $104,796.38.

Procurement and Contracts has been advised that funding is available within the Sheriff Department's budget.
Reason for Recommendation
At the request of the Sheriff's Department, it is necessary to replace fifteen (15) Repeaters that have met the County criteria for replacement. The Procurement and Contracts Division issued a comparative market analysis comparing vendor pricing against the State Contract #1-11-58-20 pricing for the acquisition of Repeaters that meet the needs of El Dorado County. Comparative market analysis' were sent to four other vendors who had previously responded to similar bids, 0 responses to the Comparative Market Analysis were received, there are no local vendors who sell this product.
Action to be taken following Board approval
Following Board approval, the Procurement and Contracts division will issue a purchase order in the amount of $104,796.38 to Daniels Electronics Ltd, of Victoria, B.C.
