Background
Pursuant to the provisions of 31 USC 9703, the Treasury Forfeiture Fund Act of 1992, which provides for the reimbursement of certain expenses incurred by local, county, and state law enforcement agencies as participants of joint operations/task forces with a federal agency participating in the Treasury Forfeiture Fund, this MOU establishes the responsibilities of the involved parties and procedures for the reimbursement of certain overtime and other law enforcement expenses.
This agreement is valid for all joint investigations led by ICE SAC San Francisco, with the participation of El Dorado County Sheriff's Office.
Reason for Recommendation
Adoption of this MOU will allow the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office to receive overtime reimbursement for joint operational work as well as travel, fuel, training, equipment and other similar costs incurred by officers assigned as members of the designated joint operations with the ICE SAC San Francisco.
Action(s) to be taken following Board approval
Signed MOU will be submitted to ICE SAC San Francisco for execution and implementation.
