Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost
The funding being used is special revenue funds allocated to the District Attorney, resulting in no impact to Net County Cost.
Background
Pursuant to California Government Code Section 30061, the Board of Supervisors shall appropriate existing and anticipated moneys exclusively to provide frontline law enforcement services in the unincorporated areas of the county, in response to written requests submitted to the Board by the District Attorney. Any request submitted shall specify the frontline law enforcement needs of the requesting entity, and those personnel, equipment and programs that are necessary to meet those needs.
During the period of July 1, 2012 through February 28, 2013, the District Attorney's Office has received an additional $17,550.
Reason for Recommendation
The District Attorney has identified a need to install a security system through Sonitrol to replace the current system which is provided by Signal Service. The County currently uses Sonitrol for provision of their security system(s) and a Sonitrol security system is installed in the District Attorney's new office space located at 532 Main Street, Placerville. To keep consistency with the security services provided, it is necessary to have Sonitrol install a new security system for the District Attorney's Offices...
