Installation of the speed restriction signs along Forni Road are estimated to cost $2,000.00. Funding to complete the work is included in the Fiscal Year 2013-14 Road Fund budget.
Reason for Recommendation
Transportation recommends the Board approve the new resolution to sanction the revision to Resolution No. 234-2007, which established speed restrictions pursuant to Section 10.08.020, of the El Dorado County Ordinance Code, as approved by the Traffic Advisory Committee, October 17, 2013.
The existing Resolution No. 234-2007 regarding Forni Road states twenty-five (25) miles per hour from approximately Berg Lane to the easterly Placerville City Limit. The portion of Forni Road from Gold Nugget Way to approximately Berg Lane is not a sanctioned speed zone limit. The revision to the speed restrictions will establish twenty-five (25) miles per hour from Placerville City Limit, from Gold Nugget Way to the easterly Placerville City Limit on Forni Road. The Traffic Advisory Committee approved retaining the existing twenty-five (25) miles per hour speed limit on Forni Road.
