Background
Randy Hackbarth was originally appointed to the Trails Advisory Committee on August 15, 2006. Randy has submitted an application to be reappointed to this committee. Randy attends the meeting regularly and is very active in the community and on this committee. Randy is an asset to this committee and staff recommends reappointment of Randy Hackbarth.
Joy Bowles is an alternate on the Sacramento Placerville Transportation Corridor (SPTC) Oversight Committee representing private property owners. Joy has demonstrated leadership and interest in trails during her time on the SPTC Oversight Committee and staff recommends appointment of Joy to the Trail Advisory Committee.
Reason for Recommendation
Currently there are two vacancies on this committee. These vacancies need to be filled. The future of this committee is being discussed at a special meeting of the Parks and Recreation Commission on January 30, 2013. The Parks and Recreation Commission recommendation will go to the board in February for discussion. This committee needs to have all members appointed so that all view points are represented.
