Chief Administrative Office, Procurement and Contracts on behalf of Community Development Agency - Transportation Division, recommending the Board consider the following:
1) Award Bid No. 14-288-057 for the purchase of hot applied asphalt cracksealer to the low qualified bidder, Crafco, Incorporated of Chandler, AZ;
2) Approve and authorize the Purchasing Agent to issue a blanket purchase order in the amount of $120,000 for a three-year (3-year) term following Board approval; and
3) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to increase the blanket purchase order on an "as needed" basis during the awarded period as long as funding is available within the requesting department's budget.
FUNDING: Road Fund - Discretionary (No Federal Funds).

Procurement and Contracts has been advised that funding is available within the Community Development Agency - Transportation Division budget.
Reason for Recommendation
At the request of Community Development Agency - Transportation Division, the Procurement and Contracts division issued an Invitation to Bid for hot applied asphalt cracksealer. The hot applied asphalt cracksealer is used for repairing roads throughout the County. Seventeen invitations to bid were mailed; two qualified responses were received, no local vendors provide this product. A Bid response summary is attached.
Action to be taken following Board approval
Following Board approval, the Procurement and Contracts division will issue a blanket purchase order in the amount of $120,000.00 to Crafco, Incorporated of Chandler, AZ. for a three-year (3-Year) term.
