Information Technologies recommending the Board consider the following:
1) Approve Supplemental Attachment 1 to Agreement No. 112-S1411 with IBM to provide hardware and software maintenance, which changes the pricing metric for the County's new Mainframe from an Entry Workload License Charges pricing metric to an Advanced Entry Workload License Charges pricing metric;
2) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to sign Supplemental Attachment 1 to Agreement No. 112-S1411 with IBM; and
3) Authorize the Purchasing Agent to sign individual Service Elite Schedules on behalf of departments County-wide and Supplemental Attachments which do not affect the term or compensation of the Agreement.

Background and Reason for Recommendation
On August 27, 2013, the Board approved Agreement No. 112-S1411 with IBM to provide hardware and software maintenance. In March 2014 the County purchased a new Mainframe (zBC12) with far better technological capabilities compared to the old Mainframe (z9). Use of the new Mainframe requires a change in the pricing metric for usage billing purposes. AEWLC is a Sub-Capacity eligible pricing metric which provides additional price performance on a zBC12 Mainframe compared to EWLC on older generations of Mainframes such as the z9 Mainframe we replaced.
Action to be taken following Board approval
Following Board approval, Procurement & Contracts will process Supplemental Attachment 1 with IBM and submit to the Purchasing Agent for signature and distribution.
