Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost
No Net County Cost. The Sheriff's Office (SO) receives an annual grant for 100% funding.  No County match is required.
 
Background
El Dorado County Sheriff's Office is the sub-grantee and provides funding for planning, equipment, training and exercise costs to the Sheriff's Office, Health and Human Services Public Health Division, Environmental Management, Fire Districts, and the cities of South Lake Tahoe and Placerville Police Departments, and other eligible public agencies.
 
The FY 2014 Homeland Security Grant has allocated $261,917 to El Dorado County which requires that a resolution listing the Authorized Agents be submitted with the application.
 
Reason for Recommendation
Approval of this recommendation will allow the SO to apply for grant funding for eligible sub-grantees for purchase of equipment to enhance local security and emergency management efforts.
