Background
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) released a funding opportunity announcement for FY 2015 Service Area Competition (SAC) to improve the health of underserved communities and vulnerable populations nationwide through continued access to comprehensive, culturally competent, quality primary health care services.  
 
The El Dorado County Community Health Center (EDCCHC) is a current HRSA SAC grantee and is applying for competing continuation funding under this application.  If awarded, funding will be used to support operations for continued provision of health care services in El Dorado County.  The grant application is due August 13, 2014.
 
Reason for Recommendation
The EDCCHC has requested a letter of support from the Health and Human Services Agency to include with their HRSA 2015 SAC grant application.
