The requested Board action has no associated fiscal impact or Net County cost.
 
Background
The "Ruff Road Mile and 5K" Event is sponsored by the Oak Ridge High School Track & Field Team.  The Event will be held on Sunday, September 7, 2014, between 7:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.  
 
The Mile Run begins at the intersection of Serrano / Silva Valley Parkways; runners turn left onto Harvard Way; followed by another left into the Oak Ridge High School Parking lot to cross the finish line at the school stadium.  
 
The 5K Run also begins at the intersection of Serrano / Silva Valley Parkways; runners will be travelling north on the Southbound side of Silva Valley Parkway runners turn left onto Harvard Way; right onto Claremont Drive; right on Brisbane Circle; left on Bussleton Drive; left on Springburn Drive; left on St. Andrews; left through the CSD; left on Harvard Way; right into the Oak Ridge High School parking lot; to cross the finish line at the stadium on the track.
 
The subdivisions in Serrano have multiple exits that the CHP looked at and has concluded the road closure does not impact resident's ability to leave.
 
Reason for Recommendation
The Transportation Division is recommending Board approval of the road closures to provide for the safety of participants, volunteers and spectators along the course, and to assist in the success of this community event.  Other involved agencies have made no objections to this closure.
 
Clerk of the Board Follow Up Actions
1. The Clerk will obtain the Chair's signature on the Resolution.
2. The Clerk will send an executed copy of the Resolution to the Transportation   Division.
