Supervisor Santiago recommending the Board receive the following presentations regarding "Forests to Water":
1) Laurence Crabtree, Forest Supervisor, El Dorado National, United States Forest Service; on the state of the forest, the challenges, stewardship programs, fire prevention, fuels management and the Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy for the 250,000 acre South Fork of the American River Strategy Project;
2) Kim Carr, Sierra Nevada Conservancy, on the Economics of Fuels Management;
3) Mark Egbert, El Dorado/Georgetown Resource Conservation District and John Kingsbury, Mountain Counties Water Resources Association on watershed restoration, enhancement and improvement, water quality and reliability, and programmatic possibilities;
4) Dave Johnston, El Dorado County Air Quality Management District and Jim Claybaugh, El Dorado County Economic Development Director on air quality and biomass optimization;
5) California Air Resources Board on Cap and Trade funding opportunities;
6) Dave Eggerton, El Dorado County Water Agency and Steve Johns, Sacramento Municipal Utility District on increased water capacity and reliability opportunities; and
7) Action of the Board based on discussion and information provided by presentations.
