Title
Sheriff's Office recommending the Board consider the following:
1) Approve and accept with thanks and authorize the Sheriff to sign the title documents for the donation of a boat from the County of Los Angeles for no cost; and
2) Approve the purchase and addition to the Fixed Asset List for Fiscal Year 2014/15 prior to the adoption of the Budget Addenda of a boat trailer in the amount of $6,567 to transport this donated boat.
FUNDING: Donation and General Fund.

Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost
There is no Change to Net County Cost. The Boat is donated free of charge. The trailer purchase and maintenance of the equipment will be from the Sheriff's Office operational budget.
Background
The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office Boats Unit was offered a 21 ft., Sea Ark boat no longer in use by LA County.
The California Department of Park and Recreation Boating and Waterways Unit has processed the exchange and has provided instruction on registering the equipment to El Dorado County.
Reason for Recommendation
This donation will enhance the Sheriff's Office Boating Unit's program with the addition of another boat to its current inventory without the County incurring the additional expense of having to purchase one.
Clerk of the Board Follow Up Actions
The Sheriff's Office will submit the title to LA County Sheriff's Department for signature, pick up and register the boat and purchase the trailer for operation.
