Background
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA), released an announcement for the FY 2015 Health Center New Access Point funding opportunity (HRSA-15-016) to improve the health of the Nation's underserved communities and vulnerable populations by increasing access to comprehensive, culturally competent, quality primary health care services.  This funding provides operational support for new primary health care service delivery sites.

If awarded, the El Dorado County Community Health Center (EDCCHC) will use the funding to open a new access point in Cameron Park to provide additional primary care, dental services, expanded behavioral health services, an education room, urgent care services, and a reduced cost pharmacy program.  EDCCHC submitted their grant application to HRSA by the August 20, 2014 deadline.  Supplemental grant application information is due to HRSA by October 7, 2014.

Reason for Recommendation
