Body
Fiscal Impact/Change to Net County Cost
There is no Change to Net County Cost. This is a donation of a water purification trailer to be used in the community during local emergencies.

Background
The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office of Emergency Services provides emergency management services such as prevention, response, and recovery  to the community during natural and man-made emergencies. A water purification trailer is very useful in providing safe drinking water when the local water resources are unsafe or unavailable.

The donation is of a state-of-the-art system enclosed in a trailer, along with enough consumables to operate the trailer for six months of daily use, as well as assorted accessories and spare parts. El Dorado County will be responsible for the storage, maintenance, and availability of this trailer. Additionally, through the California Office of Emergency Services Mutual Aid Agreement, if requested, the County will make the water purification trailer available to other communities that need assistance.

Raley's has generously donated five water purification trailers to the counties of Sacramento, El Dorado, Placer, Contra Costa, and Sonoma, where it is heavily invested in the communities.

Reason for Recommendation
This donation will make available to the Sheriff's Office of Emergency Services necessary equipment to respond to emergencies.

Clerk of the Board Follow Up Actions
The Sheriff's Office will forward the signed Memorandum of Understanding to Raleys and take possession of the trailer.
